Salary: £63,000 - 63,000 per year Requirements: Proven experience operating at Senior level; this is not suitable as a first step into seniority. Experience as a Senior, Lead or Principal Data Engineer, Lead Data Platform Engineer or Data Architect. Track record of delivering significant data engineering initiatives. Experience designing and implementing large-scale cloud-based data platforms. Ideally, experience with Azure and Databricks or similar modern data technologies. Strong SQL and Python skills. Significant experience in data modelling and database design. Experience integrating data across multiple systems and platforms. Good understanding of data architecture, governance, security and access control. Experience building data platforms that support analytics, reporting and/or AI. Ideally, experience with Alteryx, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI or similar technologies. Ability to operate strategically and influence how our organisation approaches data. Ability to build strong relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to influence and negotiate with senior colleagues. Ability to challenge existing thinking and constructively question technical and strategic decisions. Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences. Ability to develop and defend a data platform strategy. Ability to balance long-term strategic objectives with immediate delivery requirements. Ability to work collaboratively across Technology, Data and the wider organisation. Ability to take ownership and accountability for delivering high-quality outcomes. Ability to mentor and develop others. Responsibilities: Lead data engineering activity, working with data, technology and business stakeholders to develop scalable solutions for analytics and reporting priorities. Lead the design and development of a modern, enterprise-level data platform. Design, build and maintain robust data pipelines and integrations across multiple systems. Develop scalable, secure and high-performing cloud-based data solutions. Lead data modelling and database design to support analytics and reporting. Use SQL and Python to develop efficient, maintainable data solutions. Establish data engineering standards, best practice, documentation and maintainability.
