Salary: £80,000 - 90,000 per year Requirements: Proven experience managing and developing software engineering teams A strong software engineering background, with the ability to understand code and challenge technical decisions Experience improving team performance, delivery and engineering processes Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Experience with Java, Oracle or large-scale web platforms would be beneficial Exposure to AI-assisted development, platform modernisation or financial services would be advantageous Responsibilities: Lead, develop and manage a team of software engineers Improve engineering processes, delivery performance and software quality Support the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and new ways of working Work with technical leads on engineering strategy and platform modernisation Oversee project delivery, resource planning and team performance Work closely with product teams and senior stakeholders to align technical priorities with business needs Promote strong engineering standards, testing practices and reliable software delivery Technologies: AI Support Java Oracle Web More: We are supporting an established financial services organisation as it grows its Product Engineering team. This brand-new Engineering Manager position offers the opportunity to lead an engineering team, improve delivery processes and help shape the future of our technology function. The role is based at our Cardiff office, with three days onsite per week. Compensation is up to £90,000 per annum plus an annual bonus, with 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, private health insurance and an annual leave purchase scheme.
