Salary: £100,000 - 115,000 per year Requirements: Strong experience designing, building, and managing cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure Solid understanding of Azure services, cloud architecture, and modern cloud-native technologies Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code Experience working with Kubernetes and/or Azure Container Apps Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions Understanding of architectural patterns, platform design, and building systems that can scale with a growing business Experience implementing cloud security best practices Previous experience leading, mentoring, or managing engineers Ability to balance hands-on technical delivery with people leadership and strategic thinking Proactive, ownership-driven mindset, with the confidence to challenge the status quo and drive improvements Responsibilities: Own the platform engineering roadmap, set technical direction, and ensure the platform evolves in line with business needs Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three engineers, fostering collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement Spend around 50% of your time designing, building, and improving cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform services Drive the design and development of Azure-based infrastructure, making effective use of Azure services and cloud-native technologies Champion Terraform and automation to deliver consistent, repeatable, and scalable infrastructure Lead the adoption and evolution of container platforms using Kubernetes and/or Azure Container Apps Improve deployment pipelines and engineering workflows using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions Establish and promote architectural patterns, infrastructure standards, and engineering best practices Embed security into the platform through cloud security practices, governance, access controls, and secure-by-design principles Identify opportunities to improve platform reliability, scalability, operational efficiency, and developer experience Technologies: Azure CI/CD Cloud DevOps GitHub Kubernetes Security Terraform More: Were partnering with an ambitious fintech scaleup seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to take ownership of its cloud platform and help shape its technology as the business grows.
