Salary: £100,000 - 115,000 per year Requirements: Strong hands-on experience designing, building, and managing cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure In-depth knowledge of Azure services and cloud-native architecture Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code Experience with Kubernetes and/or Azure Container Apps Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions Solid understanding of architectural patterns, platform design, and scalable cloud infrastructure Experience implementing cloud security best practices and securing Azure environments Previous experience in a technical leadership role, mentoring engineers, or leading a platform engineering team Ability to balance hands-on technical delivery with leadership, planning, and architectural decision-making Proactive, ownership-driven mindset, with confidence to challenge the status quo and influence technical direction Responsibilities: Take ownership of the design, development, security, and ongoing evolution of our Azure platform Define the platform roadmap, establish technical standards, and influence architectural decisions across our engineering function Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three platform engineers, fostering collaboration, technical excellence, and ownership Spend approximately 50% of your time designing, building, and improving cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform services Use Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and management, supporting consistency, scalability, and repeatability Design and maintain container-based platforms using Kubernetes and/or Azure Container Apps Develop and optimise deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions Establish and promote architectural patterns and cloud engineering best practices Embed security through Azure security practices, identity and access management, governance, and secure-by-design principles Improve reliability, performance, scalability, and operational efficiency across our Azure environment Take ownership of technical challenges, introduce new approaches, and shape the platforms future direction as our business scales Technologies: Azure CI/CD Cloud DevOps GitHub Kubernetes Security Terraform Support More: We are an ambitious, growing fintech scaleup seeking a Lead Azure Platform Engineer to help shape our technology as the business expands.
