Salary: £43,000 - 50,000 per year Requirements: Proven commercial experience in software engineering, developing and delivering production-grade applications Strong backend development experience using Java and Spring Boot Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and scalable backend services Experience using Node.js to develop and maintain applications or services Exposure to frontend technologies, ideally Vue.js Good understanding of software design principles, coding standards and engineering best practices Experience writing automated tests and maintaining high standards of code quality Exposure to cloud platforms, ideally AWS Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git and DevOps practices Experience working in Agile development environments Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams Responsibilities: Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Java and Spring Boot Build and maintain RESTful APIs for business-critical systems and applications Contribute to frontend development using Vue.js and develop applications and services using Node.js Deliver software solutions across the full development lifecycle, from initial design through deployment and ongoing support Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code Participate in code reviews, pair programming and knowledge-sharing activities Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers and Delivery teams to deliver technical solutions Support CI/CD pipelines, automation and DevOps practices to improve software delivery Troubleshoot technical issues, optimise application performance and contribute to continuous improvement Technologies: AWS Backend CI/CD Cloud DevOps Frontend Git Support Java Spring Spring Boot Vue NodeJS JavaScript More: We are partnering with a leading UK organisation investing significantly in its digital platforms, cloud technologies and software engineering capabilities.
