Salary: £45,000 - 45,000 per year Requirements: Production-first mindset and calm, structured troubleshooting under pressure Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills to work across Operations, Engineering, Finance, and third-party vendors Experience supporting systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment, or in a role with high uptime requirements Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP, VLANs, and routing concepts, and how connectivity affects shop-floor systems Practical experience supporting Windows endpoints and basic server or service dependencies in an operational environment Working knowledge of SQL fundamentals Confidence coordinating vendors and maintaining disciplined documentation Desirable: experience supporting production data systems and integrations Desirable: experience with IT segmentation concepts and vendor access governance Desirable: Power BI or reporting awareness Desirable: experience with ticketing systems and basic ITIL-style incident and change processes Responsibilities: Support and maintain plant-floor PCs, terminals, and industrial endpoints used in production operations Troubleshoot Operational Technology connectivity in collaboration with Engineering and vendors Support OT network structure and segmentation, including VLANs and access paths Own the reliability, monitoring, and issue resolution of production systems and data flows Work with the DBA and Systems Development Engineer to troubleshoot SQL and ETL job failures affecting production reporting or operational decision-making Conduct daily health checks on production data flows Review production-impacting alerts and incidents daily and ensure the appropriate escalation path is followed Maintain an up-to-date Operational Technology asset inventory Help monitor, maintain, and develop business data systems and reporting, ensuring data quality and documentation Work with the Infrastructure and Security Engineer to support secure OT network segmentation Work with the DBA and Systems Development Engineer to maintain resilient SQL and reporting pipelines Technologies: ETL Support ITIL Network Power BI SQL Security Windows Flow More: We are a leading manufacturing business with an ambitious systems development program, and we are recruiting an IT & Data Systems Engineer to help improve the reliability of factory-floor systems and production data flows.
