Salary: £50,000 - 50,000 per year Requirements: Strong infrastructure engineering background, including Infrastructure as Code and automation Hands-on experience with Ansible or similar automation tooling and best-practice infrastructure design Practical security mindset, including compliance, assurance testing and secure-by-design principles Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment Eligibility to obtain or hold BPSS and SC clearance, subject to ITAR and UK Eyes Only restrictions Desirable: experience with Aruba or Cisco networking, Palo Alto, VMware, Windows Server or Client, or RHEL Desirable: defence sector experience Desirable: relevant certifications across the technology stack Responsibilities: Design, build and maintain Infrastructure as Code to automate infrastructure deployment, configuration and management Use automation tooling, ideally Ansible, in secure or air-gapped environments Produce scalable, resilient, secure, reusable and maintainable infrastructure patterns Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement in line with a release roadmap Work with security specialists to ensure compliance with corporate and product security controls Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including hardware and software engineers, maintainers, end users and security engineers Technologies: Ansible Aruba Cisco Hardware RHEL Security VMware Windows DevOps More: We are a leading organisation in the defence and security sector, and our Synthetic Training and Engineering Products team is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer. This is a 12-month contract based full time on site in Warton, Lancashire, near Preston, with a 37-hour working week.
