Salary: £70,000 - 75,000 per year Requirements: 10+ years of experience; software engineering experience is preferred. Extensive hands-on automation and scripting experience across multiple languages; 2 years is preferred. Advanced Infrastructure as Code experience across Azure and OCI, including Terraform and Bicep; 2 years is preferred. Proven experience designing and delivering CI/CD and automation solutions; 2 years is preferred. Experience building and operating AI- or LLM-assisted tooling or agents; 2 years is preferred. Strong understanding of security, identity management (Microsoft Entra/IAM), and secrets management. Understanding of resilience, disaster recovery, and recovery objectives, including RTO/RPO and failover. Track record of mentoring engineers and leading technical work; 2 years is preferred. Nice to have: experience applying FinOps to optimise cloud costs through automation. Nice to have: familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 2, or GDPR control expectations. Nice to have: experience contributing to engineering standards or reusable patterns. Must be able to commute reliably to Kingsclere RG20 or plan to relocate before starting. United Kingdom work authorisation is required. Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and delivery of complex automation, Infrastructure as Code, and AI-powered solutions across Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Develop reusable automation frameworks, standards, and engineering patterns. Promote AI-first ways of working by introducing automation and AI capabilities that improve service delivery and effectiveness. Lead initiatives to automate provisioning, reduce manual effort, and improve operational resilience across cloud operations. Design and maintain secure, reliable, repeatable Infrastructure as Code deployments using industry-standard tools and practices. Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for efficient, automated, and compliant deployments. Embed security, identity management, access controls, and secrets management into automation solutions. Improve system resilience, recovery capabilities, and operational performance through well-engineered automation. Apply cost-optimisation and FinOps practices to cloud automation and provisioning.
