Salary: £? - ? per year Requirements: Hands-on experience with enterprise cybersecurity tools, such as endpoint, network, email, web, or cloud security platforms Experience deploying, configuring, patching, and maintaining security tools throughout their lifecycle Solid understanding of servers, firewalls, and proxies, including how they connect, with confidence troubleshooting using logs Good understanding of offensive and defensive security and how to keep controls effective Experience supporting audit or risk activity, or knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST Desirable: Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting; experience with forensic, threat monitoring, or deception tools; ServiceNow; Azure or AWS; CISSP, Security+, or CEH Responsibilities: Run and support security platforms day to day, including patching, upgrades, policy tuning, and troubleshooting Deploy, configure, and integrate new security tools, then hand them over with clear documentation Maintain forensic, threat monitoring, and deception platforms supporting red and defensive teams Help replace existing vendors, including migrating to a new web proxy and email gateway Work with a dedicated engineering team on projects and platform scaling Support audit and risk activity, keeping evidence accurate and easy to find Technologies: AWS Azure Bash Cloud Support Network PowerShell Python Security ServiceNow Web More: We are recruiting a contract Senior Cyber Security Tooling Engineer for the IT Security team of a leading financial services organisation in London. The team manages a broad security tooling estate across network, email, endpoint, and web, as well as platforms supporting the red team. This hands-on role combines platform operations with engineering projects and major migrations; infrastructure engineers who have moved into cybersecurity are welcome to apply. The initial contract runs to 30 April 2027, is inside IR35 at an umbrella rate of £544.83 per day, and requires four days per week on site in London on an ongoing basis.
