Salary: £118,300 - 118,300 per year Requirements: Experience with C++ or relevant object-oriented software development Familiarity with electronics and lower-level firmware Experience using and generating documentation to create machine-to-machine interfaces Experience with test frameworks and test development Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerisation Experience developing applications to meet user expectations and formal constraints, including HMI/GUI/UX Familiarity with tools and approaches for interfacing with hardware Experience developing Windows and Linux applications Experience with iterative development lifecycles, such as tailored Agile, and related tools such as Jira, DevOps and Git Familiarity with development, design and coding standards Good teamwork and communication abilities Useful experience includes Python, C# or LabVIEW software development; CUDA integration for AI/ML; industrial protocols; and infrared Relevant higher-level formal qualifications in Physics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, ITQSB or a related field are useful Responsibilities: Develop a new generation of features and capabilities using innovative software solutions Collaborate with other software engineers to create Test Engineering solutions Contribute to the production of market-leading products for the defence and commercial industries Support a range of defence and commercial projects Technologies: AI C# CUDA DevOps Firmware Git Hardware Support JIRA Linux Python Windows microservices UX UI Design C++ REST More: We are hiring software engineers to support our Integrated Sensors & Protection line of business. This is an initial three-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension, based in Southampton. The role pays £61 per hour or £455 per day and is inside IR35. Our engineering community values continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation. We offer flexible hours and part-time options, with flexibility agreed around project needs.
