Salary: £70,000 - 75,000 per year Requirements: Solid service design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating research, service mapping, prototyping, delivery and impact Proven experience working to the GDS Service Standard and supporting service assessments, with a strong understanding of accessibility principles Strong user-centred design skills, including planning and conducting user research, prototyping and translating insights into improvements Experience delivering work in agile, multidisciplinary, multi-vendor teams Confidence engaging stakeholders, facilitating workshops and influencing decisions with evidence Willingness and eligibility to undergo SC security clearance At least five years of UK residency Consulting or agency experience is desirable Responsibilities: Evaluate existing services for usability, accessibility and effectiveness, and work with stakeholders to understand needs and co-create solutions Select and apply appropriate research methods to uncover insights and evidence Prototype and test ideas, working with specialists to develop them Facilitate workshops that help stakeholders align around a shared vision Translate research insights into tangible opportunities for business and user value Help delivery teams adopt a holistic service design approach Contribute to shaping the wider design practice Technologies: AWS Security Cloud UX UI Design More: We are recruiting for a Service Designer to join the growing Experience Design team at a large global technology consultancy, working on government and public-sector services built to the GDS Service Standard. The role offers the opportunity to influence how people experience public services across the UK. It is hybrid, with two days per week in an office and a choice of locations including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow. The salary is £70,000–£75,000, depending on experience, plus training and benefits. Flexible working arrangements may be requested; travel expenses for client-site visits are covered, and development opportunities include external certifications such as AWS and Microsoft.
