Salary: £? - ? per year Requirements: We require proven experience as an Application Analyst, Technical Analyst, Application Consultant or in a similar technically focused role. We require at least four years of experience as an Application Analyst, Technical Analyst or in a similar applications-focused technical role. We require a strong background in application discovery, technical assessment and legacy application modernisation programmes. We require hands-on experience assessing and documenting applications built using one or more of the following technologies: Excel/VBA, MS Access, VB/VB6, PowerBuilder. We require a good understanding of modern .NET application architectures. We require experience or exposure to Azure cloud platforms and/or OpenShift container environments. We require a strong understanding of application architecture, APIs, databases, integrations and system dependencies. We require excellent analytical, documentation and requirements-gathering skills. We require strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across both technical and non-technical audiences. We require the ability to translate technical findings into clear business-focused recommendations. We require evidence of contributing to application modernisation, migration or transformation programmes. We require knowledge of .NET applications and modernisation approaches. We require exposure to Azure and/or OpenShift environments. We require strong documentation skills, including producing application assessments, technical reports and recommendations. We require the ability to discuss specific examples of relevant experience in detail at interview. Responsibilities: We conduct detailed technical discovery and assessment of legacy applications. We analyse applications developed using technologies including Excel/VBA, MS Access, VB/VB6 and PowerBuilder. We document application functionality, architecture, integrations, interfaces, data flows and dependencies. We engage with business users and application owners to understand operational processes, application usage and business criticality. We identify technical debt, risks, support requirements and modernisation challenges. We gather and document both technical and functional requirements. We evaluate modernisation approaches including re-engineering, re-platforming, application replacement, consolidation and retirement. We support the design of future-state solutions leveragi
