Salary: £45,000 - 55,000 per year Requirements: Strong understanding of the OSI model, particularly layers 2 and 3, networking theory, and a range of manufacturers equipment Demonstrable knowledge of designing network architectures, including switches, routers, and firewalls Demonstrable knowledge of designing wireless networks for user access and backhaul technologies, such as PtP and PtMP bridges Working knowledge of structured cabling systems Experience using design tools such as MS Visio to support design proposals Experience designing networks for applications such as Data, VoIP, IPSec, HVAC, BMS, and EMS Understanding and experience with networking elements including QoS, DNS, DHCP, Radius, TACACS, SNMP, and TCP/IP, and how they may be incorporated into network designs Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when completing documentation Working knowledge of current and prevalent standards for network architecture and wireless networking Excellent customer-facing manner Flexible approach to working location and times Full UK Driving Licence Desirable: Industry-recognised wireless or networking training and certification, such as CCNA or JNCIA, or equivalent Desirable: Excellent understanding of Juniper, Cisco, and HP/Aruba product ranges Desirable: Degree-level educational award in an IT-related discipline Responsibilities: Liaise with Senior Account Managers, Technical Account Managers, and Estimators to produce high-quality, detailed designs and proposals aligned with client requirements and our commercial expectations Conduct detailed site surveys of wireless and IP network installations in line with our procedures Produce detailed design packs from concept for our company and customers Liaise with the Bid Team to support detailed technical tender responses and design proposals for new business Apply for project pricing and liaise with our supply chain to help provide clients with suitable solutions Complete pre-staging and configuration of network equipment when required Act as a point of contact for Operations, responding to queries about scope of works and providing solutions to support installation Support our wider design team with other design tasks as required Technologies: Aruba Cisco Support Network TCP/IP More: We are a specialised engineering company with more than 200 staff, experiencing continued growth and ongoing expansion.
