Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year Requirements: Strong proficiency in modern PHP, object-oriented programming, and best practices Extensive experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or similar Solid JavaScript or TypeScript skills and experience with a modern frontend framework such as React, Vue, or Angular Deep understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs Experience using Git, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews Strong working knowledge of Composer; experience with npm or Node.js and familiarity with build tools such as Vite or Webpack Experience working with Linux-based development environments Strong experience with MySQL, including database design, indexing, and performance optimisation Experience with ORMs such as Eloquent or Doctrine and knowledge of caching systems such as Redis or Memcached Proven experience designing scalable, maintainable applications and a strong understanding of MVC architecture and design patterns Experience writing clean, testable, well-documented code, with an understanding of API security, authentication, and authorization Experience with CI/CD pipelines; familiarity with Docker and containerised environments; understanding of server management and web servers such as Nginx or Apache At least 5 years of professional development experience, primarily with PHP, and a track record of delivering production-grade web applications Previous experience in a senior role Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and a proactive approach with ownership of work Ability to mentor and support junior developers Nice to have: familiarity with GraphQL, microservices architecture, automated testing pipelines and QA processes, Magento 2 module development, or AI agents Responsibilities: Take technical ownership of web development projects and change requests, from initial requirements and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and maintainable full-stack web applications, e-commerce solutions, and custom websites Support and continuously improve existing websites and applications, troubleshooting technical issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents Develop and maintain integrations between internal and external systems using RESTful APIs, third-party services, and other integration technologies Contribute to techn
