Salary: £42,000 - 42,000 per year Requirements: Practical, hands-on experience working with lasers and laser-based machinery, ideally in an engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, or R&D environment. Experience with laser alignment, laser applications, or using laser systems to process materials. CO2 laser experience is highly advantageous. A practical understanding of complete laser systems and machinery, rather than experience limited to manufacturing laser sources or components. A degree in Physics or a related technical discipline is advantageous, particularly for graduates with relevant practical laser experience. Responsibilities: Work on practical laser applications and collaborate with end-users to tailor laser systems and processes to specific requirements. Support the commissioning and alignment of optical machines, ensuring systems are correctly set up and operational. Design and carry out experiments to establish suitable laser process conditions for customer requirements. Carry out laser alignment and work with laser beams in a practical, hands-on environment. Work with CO2 lasers and micromachining systems to support R&D activities, customer samples, and process development.
