Salary: £28,000 - 68,000 per year Requirements: Strong software engineering fundamentals, including maintainable design, testing, code review and continuous improvement. Extensive experience designing and securing APIs, including REST, OpenAPI, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and service-to-service communication. Strong Microsoft Azure experience across application hosting, networking, monitoring and integration services. Advanced C# and .NET development skills, including asynchronous programming, dependency injection and automated testing. Solid understanding of integration patterns, distributed systems and secure application architecture. Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions and modern CI/CD practices. Strong SQL skills, including data modelling, performance optimisation and data-quality analysis. Proven ability to lead technical delivery within Agile teams. Experience mentoring engineers and supporting team development through coaching and code reviews. Desirable: Experience provisioning cloud resources with Infrastructure-as-Code, ideally Terraform. Desirable: Experience using GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted engineering tools. Desirable: Test automation experience with Playwright and TypeScript. Desirable: Experience building orchestration and batch processes with Azure Data Factory. Desirable: Experience building user-focused frontend experiences with React. Responsibilities: Lead delivery of applications, APIs and integration solutions from design through production support. Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers and guide delivery decisions in line with architecture, security and resilience standards. Manage technical dependencies, risks and priorities while collaborating with stakeholders across engineering and delivery teams. Design, build and support secure, observable APIs and integrations across our platforms and third-party platforms. Develop reliable data processing and reconciliation capabilities with strong controls, traceability and data-quality standards. Enhance CI/CD pipelines and engineering automation using GitHub and modern tooling. Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure and compliant with internal and regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement through operational excellence, incident management and root cause analysis.
